How to navigate GPT Online

The Contents list (referring to the main sections of GPT Online) is permanently displayed on the left-hand side of your screen. Clicking on a main section heading will prompt a display of the Detailed Contents of that section. You can then choose to enter the section at its start by clicking the first item in the detailed contents, or you can enter at any other point by clicking a sub-section. Irrespective of your chosen entry point, you can scroll forwards and backwards through the entire section. To move to the preceding section or the one following the section you are in, simply click the back or forward arrows at the top or bottom of your screen. Alternatively, re-enter the contents, click MAIN INDEX and choose where you want to go (this is the quickest route if you want to access material not immediately adjacent to the section you are currently in).

Where Am I?

The number and name of the section you are in appears in blue at the top of your screen.

How Do I Get To Somewhere Else?

Use the back or forward arrows at the top or bottom of your screen to get to the section immediately preceding or following the section you are in, or choose the section or sub-section you want from the permanently displayed Contents (as described above). You can also use the Search facility. Note that when using the Search facility, or links in the text to other sections of GPT Online or to external websites, you must use your browser's Back button to return to your starting point.

Search

This website is fully searchable.

The key words and phrases you use in your search will bring up all occurrences of those words/phrases wherever they appear in the website content.

To use this facility, click the Search button at the top of your screen.

Links

The buttons at the top of your screen (Home, Search, About Us, etc) provide general information about GPT Online. Under Help, you will also find an explanation of Abbreviations, and Resources provides links to key pensions industry websites. For some generic links like Help, click to display a menu of specific links, in this example, User Guide, Support, Contact Us, etc.

Links in the text refer you to relevant information elsewhere in GPT Online. (Remember when using such links that your browser's Back button will return you to your starting point.) There are also links to useful websites: depending on the site, either clicking Back or closing the site will return you to your starting point.

Printing

GPT Online is printer-friendly. You can choose to print out any section or other part of GPT Online.

When you click the Print button at the top of your screen, your chosen material appears in a box. To print out, click the printer icon in the box or go to File, Print...

Notes

Certain numbered paragraphs in the text have associated Notes. These provide further explanation or data, or supplement or qualify the detail contained in the main text. These Notes appear beneath the relevant numbered paragraph and are differentiated in blue and a smaller typeface. They may be mentally ‘skipped over’ if the extra detail is not required for your present purposes.

Abbreviations

Click this item in the Help menu at the top of your screen for explanation of abbreviations used in the text of GPT Online.

Resources
